A sequencing batch reactor (SBR) is a compact, efficient wastewater treatment system that uses a single tank or multiple tanks to treat wastewater in batches.
BenefitsSBRs are well suited for low or intermittent flow conditions, and can treat both municipal and industrial wastewater. The treated wastewater can be reused or discharged to surface waters.
A typical cycle time for a CF-type SBR is 3 to 4 hours, with 50% of that cycle devoted to aeration, 25% to settling, and 25% to decant.
